This Saturday the boys went to a birthday party during the day, so my husband and I took advantage of the alone time! We jumped in the Mazda 6 that I am test driving, and drove to Downtown WPB for lunch and quality time together.
We ate at one of our favorite spots, Avocado Grill. You can’t go wrong when ordering. We love to order a few small dishes to share – that way we taste a little bit of each.
It was the perfect summer weather for the Rose I ordered, and R opted for a kiwi basil mojito.
We started with grilled calamari, followed by tuna spring rolls and ended with mushroom fricassee over cheesy grits. The grits and the mushrooms together were SUPERB!
After lunch, R brought me to meet someone very special. I’d never met her before, only in photographs, but admired her just the same.
I finally got to me HEAU – the breathtaking art installation by Hula, created for the CANVAS WPB Outdoor Museum Show last November. She is even more beautiful in person! Imagine going for a walk, passing under a bridge and seeing this masterpiece.
I decided that she’d be the perfect person to share my first ever #OOTD photo with. I’ve done and still do reviews of clothing received in my subscription boxes, but this is a bit different. (For one, I’m not cropping my head out of the photo.)
I purchased the shorts and tank top at Ann Taylor Loft. The shorts are on sale for 50% off! You can also find similar shorts here, here, and here. I am not usually one to purchase shorts, and if I do they are denim cut-offs. It was nice to dress up a bit with these cuties!
You can find tank tops just about any where but there are only certain ones that both fit well and last. I purchased the one above plus two more. Similar tanks can be found here, here, and here. Tank tops are great for layering or on their own and have become a staple in my wardrobe.
My sunglasses are oldies but goodies from Banana Republic, but you can find similar ones here (30% off right now!); here and here. I love them because they cover a wide surface area, not allowing too much sun on my face.
On the ride home, we took our time and passed by this really cute park!
Whenever I see a swing set, the little kid in me comes out! My favorite feature of this Mazda 6, other than the fact that it is an ultra smooth ride, super comfortable for the driver and all of the passengers (ahhhemmm)…
…is that I can see my speed and the distance I am from the car next to me – all without having to look down at the dashboard.
When you are car shopping, what is the most important feature you look for?
